The Bangladesh Cricket Board have decided to axe captain Shakib Al Hasan and his deputy Tamim Iqbal.
The BCB's decision comes after the duo failed to guide the country to victory over Zimbabwe in a recent one-off Test match, while they also slipped to a 3-2 one-day series defeat to their African opponents.
"Shakib and Tamim and have been removed from their posts as they failed to lead the team to success in Zimbabwe," said BCB spokesman Jalal Yunus.
Al Hasan was awarded the full-time captaincy in February.
