England batsman Kevin Pietersen has insisted that the team can improve on their 3-0 Ashes series victory over Australia during the summer.
England will win The Ashes for the fourth consecutive time if they emerge victorious from the forthcoming series, which begins this evening.
"They are a great bunch of guys. We've had so much success together. To play with this great team is something that really excites me," Pietersen told Sky Sports News.
"The most exciting part of what is happening in my career now is playing with such an experienced team and playing in a team that I know can go and do another little bit of history again over the next few months.
"With the preparation that we've had, the experience we've got and knowing that we can improve on the summer is something that really excites the team."
Pietersen will make his 100th Test appearance in the series opener in Brisbane.
