Ian Bell claims that India are "favourites" for England's one-day tour of the country.

England batsman Ian Bell believes that India are favourites for the upcoming one-day international series between the two nations.

Touring England arrived in India earlier today ahead of the five-match series, which begins on Friday, October 14.

Despite emerging victorious when India travelled to England in the summer, Bell has claimed that the hosts will begin the series as "favourites" but is confident that Alastair Cook's side will be competitive.

"India are favourites," Bell told Sky Sports News. "Especially in their conditions.

"We're looking forward to improving our cricket and competing really well.

"We took some big strides forward when we played India in the summer. However, it's a massive challenge to do that in India."

England will play a warm-up fixture against Hyderabad on Saturday.
