England captain Alastair Cook has confirmed that Adil Rashid will make his Test debut against Pakistan tomorrow.
Rashid was in and around the squad for the series against New Zealand and Australia earlier this year, but he was unused in each of those seven matches.
However, the 27-year-old's ability to spin the ball has now seen him drafted into the side for the five-day encounter in the United Arab Emirates.
"He can bowl some absolute jaffers and is a wicket-taking threat," Cook said of the Yorkshire leg-spinner.
Cook also confirmed that he would open the batting alongside Moeen Ali, while the fit again James Anderson has come back into the pace attack.
