James Anderson says that England need to start well in the final day of the fourth Test against India.

James Anderson has said that the first hour of the fifth day of the fourth Test against India will be crucial for England.

England lead by 165 runs heading into the final day, knowing that a draw will be enough to win the series.

Anderson told Sky Sports News: "There's still a long way to go in the game. It's a really important start for us tomorrow.

"The first hour will be crucial. If we can get through that then hopefully we can build a couple of good partnerships throughout the day and make sure the game is safe.

"It's a pretty flat pitch and as a seam bowler you have really got to run in and give it everything to try and get anything out of it."

If England win the series, it will be their first victory in India for 27 years.
