England all-rounder Ben Stokes has pleaded not guilty to affray as he appeared via videolink at Bristol Crown Court on Monday morning.
The 26-year-old, who featured in England's ODI series win over New Zealand on Sunday, will now face trial on August 6, which could last between five and seven days.
Stokes will miss England's second Test with India at Lord's, and could also miss the first test at Edgbaston, which ends a day before the all-rounder is due to appear in court.
The affray charge dates back to September, when Stokes was allegedly involved in an incident outside a Bristol nightclub.
The all-rounder has made a solid return to England action after being cleared to do so by the ECB in January.
