England's Chris Jordan: 'Confidence was key to success in super over'

Chris Jordan admits that confidence was key to success in his performance in the super over to guide England to victory over Pakistan in the third T20 international.

Chris Jordan has claimed that confidence in England's plan in the super over was crucial to guiding his side to success in the third Twenty20 international against Pakistan.

The scores were tied in the contest after both innings in Sharjah, resulting in a super over to decide the match.

Eoin Morgan opted to hand the ball to Jordan despite his struggles in Pakistan's innings, but he was able to limit Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal to three runs to allow the Three Lions to secure a whitewash in the series.

He told the ECB's official website: "It was a bit surreal really. What helps up out is that we had a real clear plan on what we wanted to deliver and luckily I was able to deliver it.

"The previous overs in trying to close out the game we didn't quite get it right. We bowled maybe a few too many full tosses or we just missed our length.

"In that last over we thought if we could take wickets as well and try and bowl nice and straight yorkers and luckily I was able to nail them."

Jordan was included in England's Test squad for their series against South Africa which starts later this month.
