Colin Graves, the incoming England and Wales Cricket Board chairman, has reportedly spoken to Kevin Pietersen regarding a return to the England side.
The 34-year-old was sacked from international duties 13 months ago in the wake of a crushing 5-0 Ashes defeat against Australia and told that his England playing days appeared to be over.
However, Graves has since hinted that a comeback could be on the cards, and BBC Sport claims that a meeting will be held with Pietersen when he arrives back from Australia, where he is currently working as a pundit.
The news comes just a day after national selector James Whitaker categorically ruled out a return to the national side for the man who scored 8,181 runs in his 104 Tests for England.
