Luke Wright applauds England bowling options

Luke Wright hails England's bowling attack and believes it will be key to their success at the Twenty20 World Cup.

Luke Wright believes that England's bowling attack will be key to their chances of defending their Twenty20 World Cup title.

England, who won the 2010 tournament held in the West Indies, were victorious in their warm-up matches against Australia and Pakistan, with the bowlers starring in both successes.

All-rounder Wright has hailed the riches at captain Stuart Broad's disposal, both in terms of seam options and spin, which the Sussex star thinks will play a pivotal role in the sub-continent conditions.

He told Sky Sports News: "I think we're lucky in that we've got three fast bowlers in our side, tall bowlers as well. If there's a bit of bounce in the wicket I think that will be important.

"Then obviously spin has its place here as well. We saw how well Danny Briggs and Samit [Patel] bowled yesterday and obviously [Graeme] Swann's to come back.

"Hopefully by the time they come on they're already a few down and we can try and get on top of them quickly."

Broad, Jade Dernbach and Stuart Finn are likely to make up England's pace attack in their opening match against Afghanistan in Colombo on Friday.
