England continue to toil at tea against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka continue to frustrate England at tea on the final day of the first Test at Lord's.

Sri Lanka have continued to frustrate England at tea on the final day of the first Test at Lord's.

Starting the session on 99-1, the tourists lost the wickets of Kaushal Silva and Mahela Jayawardene before ending 225 runs behind on 164-3.

Kumar Sangakkara and Silva provided plenty of resistance at the crease early on, but Silva was eventually dismissed for 57 when he was caught behind by Matt Prior off the bowling of Chris Jordan to leave Sri Lanka on 123-2.

Sangakkara soon reached his half-century, though England enjoyed some success towards the end of the session as James Anderson saw off Jayawardene for 18.

Lahiru Thirimanne and Sangakkara (59 not out) will resume out in the middle when play gets back underway.
