Cheteshwar Pujara records his second century of the series to guide India to a commanding position at the close of play on day one of the second Test.

A century from Cheteshwar Pujara has allowed India to finish on 266-6 at the close of play on day one of the second Test.

Beginning the session on 167-5, India were dealt a blow when Mahendra Singh Dhoni (29) gloved a ball to Graeme Swann at gully off the bowling of Monty Panesar.

England looked as though they may wrap up the innings quickly, with Monty Panesar (4-91) continuing to threaten on his return to the side.

However, Pujara (114*) reached three figures for the second Test in a row and was well supported by Ravichandran Ashwin (60*) as the pair put on an unbroken stand of 97 to give India the edge in Mumbai.
