India, South Africa washed out

South Africa are denied the chance of claiming a clean sweep of victories against India after the third and final Twenty20 international between the pair was abandoned.

The third and final Twenty20 international between India and South Africa has been abandoned due to heavy rain.

Torrential conditions in Kolkata forced the series to be cut short without a ball being bowled in the concluding match.

South Africa had already secured a series victory thanks to their previous six and seven-wicket wins, meaning that they were denied the chance of a clean sweep.

Monday's match had to be halted after home supporters launched bottles onto the field, but the Proteas quickly recovered to claim a straightforward triumph.

The two sides will now meet in five one-day internationals, starting in Kanpur on Sunday.
