New Zealand defeat England by 86 runs to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

New Zealand have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the one-day series with England with victory at the Ageas Bowl.

The Three Lions fell 86 runs short of the Kiwis' record-breaking 360 total - their highest ever in a one-day international.

The run chase started solidly, with Alastair Cook and Ian Bell guiding the hosts to 50 without loss.

However, Kyle Mills struck to remove the skipper for 34, before Bell (25) took on Doug Bracewell but was caught by James Franklin.

Jonathan Trott led the fight, ending the innings unbeaten at the crease on 109.

Joe Root (28), Eoin Morgan (21), Chris Woakes (13) and James Anderson (28) were the only other players to reach double figures.

The final wicket fell in the 44th over, as Jade Dernbach was caught by Mills off the bowling of Mitchell McClenaghan.

The final match in the series takes place at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.
