A group of cricket players and fans have set a new world record for the highest ever match, setting up the stumps near the summit of Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro.
England's Ashes legend Ashley Giles and South Africa's first ever black Test player Makhaya Ntini were part of the team that made the 18,910 feet climb to a crater just below the dormant volcano's summit, beating the previous record of 5,165 metres set in the Himalayas in 2009.
Ten overs were played before cloud stopped the game at 82-5 for the Gorillas team, led by England women's vice captain Heather Knight, against 64-9 for Giles's Rhinos team.
"It was tough running between the wickets but it was easy bowling Ashley Giles out! Fully worth coming all this way, with such an amazing feeling getting to the top, and, I hope, breaking a world record!" Knight is quoted as saying by Nepal News.
The equipment was hauled up the mountain by Tanzanian porters during a seven-day trek and qualified umpires were also present to ensure that the game was eligible for the record.
