Hampshire have confirmed that captain Dominic Cork will be leaving the county at the end of the season.
The 40-year-old bowler joined Hants in 2008 from Lancashire and skippered the Royals to the Friends Provident Twenty20 trophy last year.
Manager Giles White revealed that the decision was made with the county's youth players in mind.
"He's been a fantastic player for us and we'll miss him. We part company with a lot of fond memories," White told BBC Solent.
"He's led the side well and has shown what a quality player he is.
"It was a difficult decision but we have some young players coming through and we felt we had to create the right path for that."
Cork took 131 wickets in 37 Tests for England.
