Yorkshire's director of professional cricket Martyn Moxon is to stay with the county despite interest from the ECB, according to reports.
The 53-year-old had been linked with the position of managing director for the England team, recently vacated by Hugh Morris who is to return to his former county Glamorgan in January as chief executive.
However, the Bradford Telegraph and Argus claims that Yorkshire are confident of retaining Moxon's services.
The report goes on to suggest that former Leicestershire captain James Whitaker is a leading contender for the post, which has already been turned down by Andrew Strauss.
Moxon played for Yorkshire between 1981 and 1997 and played in 10 Tests for England.
