Pakistan coach Waqar Younis believes that his side's confidence has returned following their 29-run World Cup victory over South Africa in Auckland.
The Men in Green lost their first two Pool B matches, to India and West Indies, but have won their last three games to put them on the verge of qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Younis looked towards his country's 1992 side, who lifted the World Cup trophy after winning just one of their opening five games, as inspiration for the current squad.
"I'm sure that belief is coming into our dressing room that we can deliver," he told BBC Sport. "I'm not going to think too far ahead, but we are going in the right direction.
"I hope it turns out to be the same, but we have to really work hard. After the first two games the entire team felt it was time they came to the party. It was the start of the World Cup."
Pakistan face Ireland, who are currently fourth in the table, next weekend in the final group game of the tournament.
