Pakistan captain Salman Butt agreed to score no runs during a match against England last summer, a court has heard.
The 26-year-old, who is one of the cricketers under investigation in the spot-fixing scandal, was allegedly taped stating that he would bat a "maiden over" during the final game of the Oval Test match last year.
Southwark Crown Court heard that the player's agent Mazhar Majeed had a phone conversation with Butt regarding the maiden over while arranging a deal with an undercover journalist, who was posing as an Indian businessman.
The journalist offered £10,000 to the London-based sports agent to fix the match, to which Majeed and the Pakistan captain allegedly agreed.
