South Africa find breakthrough in early session on day two against Australia

Australia reach lunch on day two of the first Test against South Africa on 374-7 after the Proteas nab early wickets.

South Africa have managed to halt Australia's charge by taking three wickets in the morning session on day two of the first Test in Centurion.

An unbeaten century from Shaun Marsh ensured that the tourists finished the opening day on 297-4.

This morning, Steve Smith managed to grab his fourth Test ton before being taken out by Ryan McLaren, while Brad Haddin followed his teammate almost instantly for a duck due to an lbw from a Robin Peterson delivery.

A crucial wicket came for the Proteas when Marsh's innings came to an end just short of reaching 150 when Graeme Smith caught out the batsman from Vernon Philander's delivery.

Mitchell Johnson (28 not out) and Ryan Harris (seven not out) will return to the crease after lunch with Australia on 374-7
