Sri Lanka build big lead against Pakistan

Angelo Mathews and Kaushal Silva pile on the runs to leave Sri Lanka 166 ahead at the end of day two in the second Test against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka have opened up a 166-run lead by the close of play on day two in the second Test against Pakistan in Colombo, reaching 304-9 at stumps.

Having resumed on 147-3 at lunch, Kaushal Silva (80) and Angelo Mathews (77) continued to pile on the runs in the afternoon, but both fell short of the ton.

Yasir Shah gave Pakistan some hope either side of tea as he removed Kithuruwan Vithangage and Dinesh Chandimal cheaply shortly after claiming the wicket of Mathews, leaving him on figures of 5-95.

Tharindu Kaushal fell shortly before the close of play, edging a Shah delivery to Misbah-ul-Haq, leaving Rangana Herath and Dushmantha Chameera at the crease heading into day three.
