West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul announces his retirement from international cricket at the age of 41.

West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 41.

The left-hander, who made his debut against England in 1994, calls time on his career after amassing over 20,000 runs in the three forms of the game.

West Indies Cricket Board chairman Dave Cameron said: "The WICB acknowledges the invaluable contribution Shiv has made to the game globally and we wish him all the best."

Chanderpaul made 164 Test appearances and scored 30 centuries at an average of 51.37.

He ends his career sitting seventh in the all-time Test runs scorers list with 11,867.
