British Cycling suspends technical director Shane Sutton

Technical director Shane Sutton is suspended by British Cycling as a review is launched into his conduct.

Shane Sutton has been suspended from his role as the technical director of British Cycling as an investigation into discrimination allegations gets underway.

Jess Varnish recently claimed that Sutton told her to "go and have a baby" after she was dropped from the squad, while a further report in the Daily Mail stated that the Aussie had made derogatory comments about para-cyclists.

Fifty-eight-year-old Sutton has denied any wrongdoing, yet the organisation has decided to relieve him of his duties while a review takes place.

The scrutiny has fallen on the team just 100 days before the Olympics get underway in Rio de Janeiro.
