Sir Bradley Wiggins has revealed that he would like to win a fifth Olympic gold medal while riding for his own team.
The former Tour de France winner has had success at each of the last three Games and despite the next event in Rio de Janeiro not taking place for a little under two years, he has already announced plans for his preparation ahead of the trip to South America.
The 34-year-old is quoted by The Telegraph as saying: "I really want that fifth Olympic gold. I'll stay with Team Sky - hopefully - and try to win something like Paris-Roubaix, which is a completely different challenge to the Tour de France.
"Next year, I would love to have my own team which we are in process of setting up. It will basically will be the guys that I am going to try to win that gold medal with.
"And that team will facilitate a programme, and a training programme, which will basically give us the best possible opportunity of winning that gold medal."
Wiggins has also recently revealed that he would like to try to break the world hour record currently held by Matthias Brandle.
