Geraint Thomas has instructed cycling fans to ditch the trend of standing in the road and taking selfies as it is dangerous to both them and the riders.
The Team Sky rider praised the huge turnout in Yorkshire for the first two stages of this year's Tour de France, but said pictures like the one below should be stopped.

"The worst thing is when people have got their back to the peloton taking selfies," said Thomas.
"There were a few. They don't see us coming, they're stood in the road and it's dodgy."
American rider Tejay van Garderen also said that it was vain and stupid on his Twitter page.
"A dangerous mix of vanity and stupidity," wrote Van Garderen.
"Standing I the middle of the road with you back turned while 200 cyclists come at you, just to take a selfie. #think #TDF2014"
Vincenzo Nibali won today's stage from York to Sheffield to gain the overall leader's yellow jersey for tomorrow's final English stage between Cambridge and London.
