Vincenzo Nibali wins Stage 19, Nairo Quintana close gap on Chris Froome

Vincenzo Nibali claims Stage 19 of this year's Tour de France as Nairo Quintana finishes 29 seconds ahead of Chris Froome.

Vincenzo Nibali has powered his way to Stage 19 of the Tour de France on a day when Chris Froome lost time to main rival Nairo Quintana.

The Italian roared to victory on the 138km stage, finishing 43 seconds ahead of Quintana who still holds hope of claiming the yellow jersey ahead of Froome.

Froome came home in third place, a further 29 seconds behind Quintana, and his lead in the general classification has been reduced to two minutes 38 seconds.

The British rider will look to defend that lead in Saturday's penultimate stage before the field make their way towards Paris on Sunday.
