Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen secure their places in Friday's PDC World Championship final with commanding victories at Alexandra Palace.

Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen will meet in Friday's PDC World Championship final.

The pair were heavy favourites to prevail from their respective last-four contests with Stephen Bunting and Chris Dobey, and they each delivered with 6-1 victories.

Although Littler soon found out that he was in a game when Bunting averaged 113.35 in the first set, the 17-year-old still won that opener and proceeded to showcase his superior quality.

To Bunting's credit, he won at least one leg in each of the seven sets, yet the Liverpudlian could not match a performance from Littler which saw him average 105.48 and hit 44% of his double attempts.

Littler also hit 13 180s and 170 checkout as he prevailed in 19 of the 31 legs, Bunting left to wonder what could have been as he ponders the possibility of a Premier League wildcard as a consolation prize.

Van Gerwen capitalises on Dobey misses

Van Gerwen did not need to showcase the same kind of level against Dobey, yet still came through with a dominant triumph.

The outcome of the second set ultimately proved pivotal as Dobey missed three darts to level the contest at 1-1.

Despite halving the deficit in whitewashing Van Gerwen in the third, Van Gerwen responded by reeling off five successive legs and ultimately not losing another set.

With eight maximums and a 98.84 average, Van Gerwen cruised through to yet another world final as he bids to win the title for a fourth time.
