Lakeside champion Kist let slip a 6-2 advantage against Wes Newton before taking out 62 in the deciding leg for a 10-9 victory.
Andy Hamilton also came through a tight match with Gary Anderson by hitting double 16 with his final dart in the deciding leg to prevail 10-9.
Brendan Dolan threatened a miraculous comeback from 6-0 down before John Part emerged a 10-6 victor to progress to a last-eight tie with Hamilton.
