Michael van Gerwen beats both Raymond van Barneveld and Adrian Lewis to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Michael van Gerwen opened up a four-point advantage at the top of the Premier League table after winning twice in Dublin on Thursday evening.

The world number two got his night off to a winning start by averaging over 106 in recording a 7-4 victory over Dutch compatriot Raymond van Barneveld.

He then returned to fight back from 3-1 behind against Adrian Lewis to grind out a 7-5 success, to almost assure his place in the playoffs.

The match of the night saw Van Barneveld involved in an entertaining tussle with Phil Taylor, with the Englishman taking advantage of five missed match darts by the Dutchman to earn a 6-6 draw.

The 16-time world champion had earlier impressed by seeing off the challenge of Andy Hamilton with a 7-3 win, before Hamilton returned to suffer a 7-3 defeat at the hands of Simon Whitlock.

The other game of the night saw James Wade establish himself in second place in the league table with a 7-3 triumph over Robert Thornton.
