Simon Cowell misses the latest set of Britain's Got Talent auditions after testing positive for coronavirus.

Simon Cowell was forced to sit out the latest round of Britain's Got Talent auditions after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 2021 edition of the show was cancelled due to the pandemic but a new series is due to finally air this spring, with filming of the auditions phase having started last month.

Cowell missed Thursday's auditions, however, after catching coronavirus - just a week after he broke his arm in an accident involving his electric scooter.

A show spokesperson told the Daily Mail: "Simon was unable to attend filming today as he was isolating at home after testing positive for COVID-19."

David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon have continued filming as a trio while Cowell recovers.
