Simon Cowell to appear on Britain's Got Talent by video link

Alesha Dixon reveals that Simon Cowell is likely to appear on Britain's Got Talent's live shows by video link as he recovers from a broken back.

Alesha Dixon has confirmed that Simon Cowell is likely to take part in the live stages of Britain's Got Talent by video link when the show returns next month.

The 60-year-old is currently in California, where he was due to take part in America's Got Talent this week, only to be thwarted by a broken back when he fell off his new electric bike.

While Cowell has been forced to sit out this week's AGT and possibly may have to miss future weeks too, he is expected to be well enough to feature on the BGT semi-finals next month - albeit via video link from across the pond.

Appearing on This Morning today, Dixon revealed that she has been in contact with Cowell's long-term girlfriend Lauren Silverman for updates on his condition.

"I've not been able to stop thinking about them all," she said. "It's horrific. We've all been devastated and worried about Simon but the positive thing is that he's in good spirits and Lauren said that he's slowly on the mend.

"I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that some the live shows for Britain's Got Talent we can hopefully have Simon on a live link. Because we love him!"

Having been delayed by coronavirus, the semi-finals are expected to air on consecutive Saturday nights on ITV.
