Upcoming news channel GB News appears to have begun transmission tests on Sky ahead of its launch in the next few months.
The new station, which is being led by veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil, aims to offer an alternative to rolling news with a programming lineup of opinion-led and debate shows.
From launch GB News will be available via every major platform in the UK and has already been confirmed for EPG slot 236 on Freeview and Youview.
The channel's slot on Sky has yet to be confirmed, with EPG number 524 the next available - although the broadcaster does have the ability to buy a more desirable slot higher up the news section from an incumbent.
An exact launch date for GB News has also yet to be confirmed, although the channel appears to have begun initial testing via satellite this week.
A hidden channel broadcasting with the label '53395' - currently showing a standard colour test card only - looks to have been earmarked for an HD version of GB News.
Yesterday the broadcaster announced BBC News channel veteran Simon McCoy as the latest addition to its presenting team.
