NBC Universal retains the exclusive US rights to the Premier League in a new six-season deal.

NBC Universal has kept hold of the US TV broadcast rights to the Premier League in a new six-year arrangement.

The deal means all 380 games a season will be broadcast across NBC's channels and services - including NBC broadcast, USA Network and Peacock - until at least the end of the 2027-28 season.

According to various reports, the final value of the deal came in at around around $2.5 billion (£1.85 billion) over the length of the contract, which is more than double that generated by the current arrangement with NBCU.

"We are delighted to announce our new US broadcast deal with NBC Sports, who have been brilliant partners for the Premier League over the last nine seasons," said Richard Masters, chief exec of the Premier League.

"NBC Sports has significantly strengthened the popularity of the League in the United States in that time through its fantastic coverage and promotion.

"NBC Sports' Premier League Mornings programming is now a real institution among supporters in America, with fans getting up early to come together and cheer on their favourite club, week in, week out.

"It's an exciting time for football in the US and we look forward to continuing to work with NBC Sports to bring our competition to even more fans over the next six years."

NBC Universal is owned by Comcast, the same company that owns and operates Sky in the UK and across Europe.
