The 20 clubs of the Premier League agree for at least 250 games a season to be broadcast live in the UK.

The 20 clubs of the Premier League have agreed to a significant increase in the number of games to be made available for live broadcast in the UK.

At present, 200 of the league's 380 games a season are shown domestically, with the rights split between Sky Sports, TNT Sports and Prime Video.

A meeting of the top-flight clubs on Thursday determined that the Premier League's negotiators would be allowed to offer up at least 250 games a season under the next set of TV rights, which begin with the 2025-26 season.

The teams are reportedly happy for all games outside of the Saturday 3pm blackout to be shown, potentially meaning more kickoffs on Friday, Saturday and Monday nights.

The three-year rights cycle could also be replaced with a four-year rights cycle to give the clubs - and the broadcasters - more financial certainty.

The new proposals are likely to go out to tender next month, with a final decision potentially due before Christmas.
