S4C has announced that it will broadcast Wrexham's friendly game with Premier League side Chelsea live from the US overnight on Wednesday.
The Welsh side enjoyed a fairytale promotion to League Two last season under the ownership of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, while the behind-the-scenes Disney+ documentary Welcome To Wrexham has brought worldwide attention to the club.
Ahead of their debut campaign in the EFL, Phil Parkinson's side are embarking upon a tour of the US, with the Blues, a Los Angeles Galaxy side and Manchester United among their high-profile opponents over the next week.
As a Welsh broadcaster, S4C has a close relationship with the club and last season aired multiple FA Cup games live, in addition to showing their own Wrexham documentary.
The friendly game against Mauricio Pochettino's side is taking place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina in the early hours of Thursday morning UK time and will be shown on free streaming service S4C Clic, as well as S4C's YouTube channel, starting at 12.45am.
"This is great for Wrexham – what a game for them," said S4C match commentator Malcolm Allen. "It's not often that you can watch any club from Wales playing on such a large stage, and also live on S4C.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how new signing Will Boyle will be playing – a strong, new player for Wrexham.
"It will be interesting to see how fit the boys are – there's a great spirit in the team. The players will want to prove a point against a team like Chelsea."
Highlights of the match will air on S4C on Thursday night at 9pm.
