Robert Pattinson able to urinate freely as Batman

The Batman director Matt Reeves reveals that the superhero's suit has been specially adapted to enable Robert Pattinson to urinate.

The Batman director Matt Reeves has revealed that Robert Pattinson requested some modifications to his Batsuit in order to help him urinate.

Pattinson, 34, is taking over from Ben Affleck as the caped crusader for a reimagining of the franchise under Reeves, with filming now back underway after a production pause due to coronavirus.

Speaking at DC's FanDome event last weekend, Reeves explained that Pattinson asked for his skin-tight costume to be adapted after speaking to former Batman Christian Bale about the challenges of relieving oneself while kitted out as the superhero.

"[When] Rob actually talked to Christian Bale, [Bale said], 'just make sure you're going to be able to relieve yourself', so that was actually part of what was important to build into it," said Reeves.

"Like okay, he needs to be able to put it on. He also needs to be able to live as a human being."

Reeves failed to elaborate on exactly how the suit was adapted to enable Pattinson's urination.

The Batman is due for release in October 2021.
