Charlie Condou has become the latest guest star announced for the upcoming new series of Doctor Who.
The new eight-part run sees Ncuti Gatwa return as The Doctor alongside Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday and Varada Sethu as new companion Belinda Chandra.
A host of guest stars have already been announced, including Freddie Fox, Alan Cumming, Rylan Clark, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Christopher Chung and Jonah Hauer-King - and now former Coronation Street actor Condou has also been confirmed.
Details of his character have yet to be revealed, although a press photo sees Condou wearing an 'Interstellar Song Contest' T-shirt, suggesting that he may appear alongside Clark in episode six.
"Welcome on board, Charlie," said showrunner Russell T Davies. "Some episodes of Doctor Who are so big and bold, they need all the talent we can throw at them, and that's when you call for Charlie Condou! It's a delight to work with him at last, and I can't wait for people to see the wildness of this story."
Condou added: "I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining the Whoniverse, having been a fan for so long, and finally getting a chance to work with the legend that is Russell T Davies!
"It's an honour to be part of such an iconic show and I can't wait for everyone to see what I think is one of the most exciting and unforgettable episodes so far!"
The new series of Doctor Who premieres Saturday, April 12 on iPlayer in the UK and Disney+ in the rest of the world.
