Patrick Mower will take part in The Queen's Jubilee Parade on Sunday, it has been announced.
The 83-year-old has played Rodney Blackstock on Emmerdale for the last 22 years but has an acting career spanning back to the early '60s.
In the Jubilee Parade, famous faces will board a series of open-topped buses - each representing a different decade - as they make their way through central London.
Mower will be part of the '70s-themed bus - a decade in which he appeared in shows such as Target, Special Branch, Callan and The Sweeney.
"I am greatly honoured to have been asked to join in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Pageant celebrations," he said.
"Because of my work with The Lord's Taverners, The Variety Club of Great Britain and SPARKS charities, I have had the honour of meeting Her Majesty and Prince Philip on numerous occasions.
"I look forward to sharing this wonderful event with the nation and Her Majesty this Sunday."
The event will be broadcast on BBC One from 1pm on Sunday.
