Katherine Jenkins confirms Dame Vera Lynn duet

Katherine Jenkins confirms plans for a duet with Dame Vera Lynn on 'We'll Meet Again', with all proceeds going to NHS workers.

Classical singer Katherine Jenkins has confirmed that she will release a charity version of 'We'll Meet Again' with Dame Vera Lynn.

The song became an anthem of inspiration and hope during the second World War in the 1940s and led to Lynn - now aged 103 - being dubbed the Forces' Sweetheart.

With the deadly coronavirus disease now sweeping the world, the song has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity, buoyed by a reference to the lyrics from The Queen in her address to the nation over the weekend.

Confirming the duet, Jenkins told Good Morning Britain: "All proceeds are going to the NHS Charities Together, which is an amazing charity providing lunch, food, snacks, protein bars, paying for car parking for the staff and volunteers and helping them with their mental health and support after the crisis.

"It's amazing and such an honour to be working with Dame Vera, who invited me to record this song a few years ago."

'We'll Meet Again' will be released this Saturday.
