Piers Morgan brands Jim Davidson "sexist" and "Boris-slathering"

-Good Morning Britain's Piers Morgan bites back after comedian Jim Davidson accuses him of being an "opportunist" over the UK's coronavirus death toll.

Piers Morgan has hit back at Jim Davidson after the comedian suggested that he is being an "opportunist" with the coronavirus crisis.

The Good Morning Britain host has been particularly pugnacious towards government ministers over what he believes to be their inadequate handling of the pandemic and has attracted thousands of complaints to TV regulator Ofcom from viewers accusing him of "bullying" his interviewees.

Morgan has always insisted that he has the right to "hold the government to account" but Davidson has grown fed up of what he believes to be the presenter's faux outrage.

"I can't believe at what I'm listening to," Davidson said in a YouTube video. "Talk about opportunist, Pier Morgan-ist-isms calling for the Prime Minister to resign because we've reached 100,000 [deaths].

"No-one knew about this virus and Piers is saying, 'what did the Prime Minister do? He didn't go to his Cobra meetings'. Piers, you make me so angry.

"Now you idiot, you just want to lay blame on the Prime Minister to make yourself look good. This is what this is all about, it's you wanting to look good. You don't look good, you look pathetic.

"Just shame on you. Instead of trying to trip the Prime Minister over, why don't you do something to help?

"Why do you think no-one comes on your f***ing show? The Prime Minister has better things to do. He has to help stop the other people dying."

Having watched Davidson's comments, Morgan wrote on Twitter: "Hi Jim, Always good to hear your foul-mouthed, abusive, sexist, Boris-slathering views."

In his rant Davidson also referred to Morgan's co-host Susanna Reid as "Piers in a frock".
