Conor McGregor linked with I'm A Celebrity

Retired UFC fighter Conor McGregor is a shock name in the frame for this year's I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

Conor McGregor is being linked with an unlikely appearance on this year's edition of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.

The 31-year-old announced his retirement as a UFC fighter for a third time over the weekend, ending his career with a record of 22 wins and just four defeats.

The Irishman is thought to have amassed a personal fortune of $110 million (£86.8 million) during his fighting career so has no monetary motive for appearing on I'm A Celebrity yet is currently priced at 8/1 to take part this November.

Last year's series featured Hollywood superstar Caitlyn Jenner, who has a net worth of around the same level as McGregor and said that she had decided to take part purely for the challenge.

ITV is determined for the show to go ahead as usual this year despite the ongoing threat posed by coronavirus and is working on measures to ensure that the production can go ahead safely.
