Former EastEnders star Jake Wood is said to be in "advanced talks" about appearing on this year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

The show returns to ITV as usual in November, although ongoing coronavirus uncertainty means that it may be staged in Wales again rather than the Australian jungle.

According to The Sun, Wood, who left his role as Max Branning on the soap after 15 years earlier this year, has met with producers to discuss joining the lineup.

"He would love to go into the jungle," a source told the newspaper.

"He thinks it would be a great challenge for him and he has of course seen how well other EastEnders stars have done on the series.

"The casting team have booked half of the campmates already and have been bragging about some phenomenal names."

EE alums to have previously won I'm A Celebrity include Joe Swash (2008), Charlie Brooks (2012) and Jacqueline Jossa (2019).
