Love Island Australia: What Happened Next

We take a look at what happened to the contestants of Love Island Australia after the show ended.

The first season of Love Island Australia has reached its conclusion on ITV2, with Grant Crapp and Tayla Damir being crowned the inaugural winning couple.

The show first aired in Australia back in 2018 and it's fair to say that a lot has changed in the two years since.

Who's still together? Did Justin ever find his Miss Right? And have Mark's veneers lost their shine? Here, we take a look at what happened to the contestants after they left the villa.

Two weeks. That's how long the winning couple lasted after the show - and it seems that the writing was on the wall from the start. During one of the challenges in the series, Grant was confronted with the tabloid rumour that he already had a girlfriend and was using the show for exposure.

At the time he denied the story but it then emerged that it was indeed true. Fast forward to 2020 and he is still with the same girl - and recently bought a house with her.

Having put all that Crapp behind her, Tayla went on to date fellow islander Dom for a year and is now seeing AFL player Nathan Broad.

Runners-up Eden and Erin fared slightly better than Grant and Tayla, surviving a whole three months together in the outside world before splitting. Eden went on to be crowned Mr World Australia before going on Married At First Sight, where he found love - and a baby - with a fellow contestant. The couple then split but have recently got back together.

As for Erin, she appeared on the Aussie version of I'm A Celebrity earlier this year and lasted 19 days, being voted off fourth. With Love Island re-airing in the UK, she has taken to Instagram in recent weeks to charmingly advise British viewers: "We had cameras everywhere for your entertainment, so don't you dare sit on your couch & start attacking us on social media for things we did or said; When I can guarantee YOU have probably done or said worse, but it was just never filmed 24/7 & aired on tv around the world."

At last, a Love Island success story! Although they placed third on the show, Josh and Amelia were the winners on the outside world and are STILL TOGETHER two years down the line. Amelia has become a successful YouTuber while Josh presents a podcast with fellow islander Dom called Intelligence Pending.

Dom and Shelby lasted just a few weeks after returning to Oz, with Dom going on to date Tayla for a whole year before they called it quits. He has spent a lot of time travelling the world and is now thought to be working on his own fashion label.

Shelby has now found love with motocross rider Harry Bink and has also joined the adults-only site Only Fans.

Mark and Millie were one of the more successful pairings to come from the show, dating for eight months before deciding to split in March 2019 after realising that they were "going in different directions".

Mark is now working as a manager and rep for sports stars - and a quick glance at his Instagram reveals that his teeth are as white as ever. Millie appears to have been inspired by her ex, meanwhile, having surprised fans with a dramatic dental transformation since leaving the villa.

Teddy won the hearts of the Aussie nation during his stint on the show, having opened up about his experience of being bullied in the past. After a few months of enjoying the spotlight, Teddy went back to his old job of working in retail but is now hoping to appear on another reality series such as The Bachelor.

Mac left the villa having failed to find love but had more luck back in the real world, coupling up with The Bachelor's Apollo Jackson in January 2019. The two are still together 18 months down the line, although rather curiously she has just opened up a NSFW account on OnlyFans.

After leaving the show, Jaxon got stacked and is now working as a model, while he is also plotting a trip to the UK once coronavirus travel restrictions are lifted.

He still isn't Charlie Hunnam.

Following Cassidy's... erm... eventful time in the villa, she went on to become a social media influencer, endorsing products such as teeth whiteners and fake tan. She also runs a lifestyle channel on YouTube where she gives tips on workouts and healthy eating.

One of the most popular contestants of the series, Justin went on to compete in the Aussie I'm A Celebrity in 2019, finishing a respectable sixth place. After much speculation about his sexuality during his time on the show, Justin confirmed earlier this year that he is attracted to both men and women. Two months later he welcomed his first child with an ex-girlfriend.

Previously known to UK audiences from his time on Big Brother, John James voluntarily walked out of the villa after failing to connect with any of the girls. He is now a model and bodybuilder.
