Doctor Alex opens up on "really tough" breakup

Doctor Alex George admits that he is finding it "really tough" to cope with the breakup from his girlfriend of 18 months.

Doctor Alex George has admitted that he is struggling to deal with his breakup from girlfriend Amelia Bath over the last few days.

The 30-year-old former Love Island star has spent most of the year living separately from Bath as he worked in an A&E department helping to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.

Just days after they finally reunited, George announced that they had taken the decision to no longer continue seeing each other after 18 months of dating.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, he wrote: "The last few days have been really tough but I am so grateful for the love and support I have received, it means the world to me.

"Life happens. Being able to pick yourself up and move forward with positivity and an appreciation for life is what matters."

George saw his Instagram following surge to 1.4 million as he provided regular frontline updates during the crisis.
