ITV2 has confirmed that the new season of Love Island USA will start airing from Monday, September 7.
As we revealed earlier this month, the channel has acquired the rights to the second season of the American version of the hit dating show, which has been relocated from a villa in Fiji to the penthouse of a Las Vegas hotel due to coronavirus.
The show begins Stateside on CBS tonight but ITV2 has opted for a two-week delay for its transmission and will begin airing the series at 9pm from September 7.
"We're thrilled that ITV2 can bring the latest US version of Love Island to viewers this year," said Paul Mortimer, ITV's head of digital channels and acquisitions.
"Las Vegas may seem like an odd destination for the show but the canny producers have beaten Covid with a show that adheres to all production protocols and that could well be sensational. Certainly the 'villa' is impressive and the cast diverse and amazing.
"We believe Love Island fans will embrace this Sin City twist - my bet is the series will be another big hit."
The channel averaged an impressive 1 million viewers for its screening of the first season of Love Island Australia earlier this summer and also has the second season in reserve for future transmission.
