Jamie Foxx is reportedly in final talks to reprise his role as Electro for the upcoming new Spider-Man movie.

The actor previously played the classic villain in 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opposite Andrew Garfield's version of the web-slinger.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Foxx will be back as Electro for third film of the Tom Holland era - due to be filmed later this year for release in December 2021.

The 52-year-old appeared to confirm the news in a post on Instagram on Friday night but later deleted his comments.

"Super excited to part of the new marvel Spider-Man new installment," he wrote. "And i won't be blue in this one!! but a thousand percent badass!!!"
