Jacob Elordi is reportedly in talks to replace Paul Mescal in Ridley Scott's upcoming post-apocalyptic movie The Dog Stars.

Jacob Elordi is reportedly in talks about taking on the lead role in Ridley Scott's upcoming post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars.

The 27-year-old Aussie actor enjoyed a breakout 2024 thanks to his appearance in the acclaimed film Saltburn, following on from his previous roles in Priscilla and the ongoing teen drama Euphoria.

The Dog Stars - based on a 2012 novel - is set in a world where a virus has wiped out most of the population and follows two men who team up to face off the threats that remain.

Paul Mescal had originally been tipped to star in the film following his collaboration with Scott in Gladiator II, but according to Variety, Elordi is now in talks as Mescal looks set for a key part as one of the Fab Four in a new anthology about The Beatles.

Filming on The Dog Stars is due to begin early this year for an anticipated release in 2026.
