Voice of Ghostface drops major Scream 5 spoilers?

Roger L Jackson, the voice behind Ghostface in the Scream movies, seemingly drops some major hints about the upcoming fifth film in the franchise.

Roger L Jackson - the voice of Ghostface in the Scream franchise, has seemingly dropped some major hints about the upcoming fifth movie.

After a gap of more than 10 years, during which time creator Wes Craven has died, a new Scream film is being made, with original stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette all back on board.

Jackson, 62, has provided the distinctive voice for the killers behind the Ghostface mask in all four films to date and is also returning for the new instalment - and he was asked about the mask in an interview with fan site Ghostface UK.

"There's been a rumour going around that the ultra-white mask is involved," he replied.

"What I will tell you is that the killer, the main killer, will not have the ultra-white mask. There's something else involved, and it's not the white mask!"

As well as suggestions that the mask may be somehow different, Jackson's comments referencing "the main killer" imply that there may once again be more than one killer on the loose.

Filming on Scream 5 began last month in North Carolina, with a release tentatively planned for January 2022.
