Channel 4 has reportedly postponed both Celebrity Hunted and Hunted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The series sees contestants go on the run and attempt to avoid capture by a team of highly-skilled hunters equipped with cutting-edge surveillance technology.
The celebrity version, staged in aid of Stand Up To Cancer, had been due to begin filming soon, with the likes of Nigel Farage, Ally McCoist, Alan Brazil and Jennifer Arcuri lined up to take part.
"It's a blow to Channel 4 but they have to put the safety of contestants first," a source told The Sun.
"And with empty streets and half-desolate train and bus stations, they'd be sitting ducks for the hunters, which isn't great TV."
A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: "We are monitoring the situation very carefully and are looking at all options for producing the show safely. Filming of the series will begin when it is safe to do so."
The last celebrity series was won by former rugby player Gavin Henson and celebrity chefs Jean-Christophe Novelli and Aldo Zilli.
