Fred Dinenage to return for rebooted HOW series
Fred Dinenage is to return as part of the presenting lineup for the reboot of HOW, 54 years after he launched the iconic kids series.

HOW legend Fred Dinenage is to return for the show's reboot, ITV has confirmed.

The kids' educational series first aired from 1966 to 1981 before returning as HOW2, with a format shift towards fun science experiments, between 1990 and 2006.

Dinenage, now 78, is the only person to have appeared in every episode of both series and now ITV has announced that he will be part of the revamped HOW alongside Vick Hope, Sam Homewood and Frankie Vu.

"Having appeared in every one of the hundreds of HOW and HOW2 programmes over more than 30 years, I am thrilled to be a part of the new series of HOW," said Dinenage.

"The wheel will have turned full circle! I am now just about the happiest tv presenter in Britain - though also, sadly, one of the oldest!

"But my energy and enthusiasm are undimmed - and so is my desire to show, once again, younger viewers - HOW!"

Homewood added: "I'm so excited that HOW is back and even more so that I get to be a part of it.

"I loved HOW2 when I was younger, and now I'm older I love learning hacks and blowing stuff up.

"The team behind the show is incredible and I can't wait for people to see what Vick, Frankie, Fred and I have been up to. There are plenty of surprises in store."

The series will air on the CITV channel and ITV from next month.
