Justin Bieber opens up on feeling "really, really suicidal"

Justin Bieber opens up on feelings of suicide in a candid new documentary.

Justin Bieber has opened up on past thoughts of wanting to commit suicide in a revealing new documentary.

The 26-year-old, who was thrust into the spotlight at the age of 13, has been open about his mental health issues - including anxiety and depression - in recent years and spoke candidly about the topic in new YouTube documentary Justin Bieber: Next Chapter.

"There was times where I was really, really suicidal," he said.

"Like, man is this pain ever going to go away? It was so consistent, the pain was so consistent.

"I was just suffering, right? So, I'm just like, man, I would rather not feel this than feel this."

After the release of the documentary Bieber tweeted to reassure fans that he is now feeling "happy and healthy".
